WikiFoods founder, bio-tech engineer and Harvard professor David Edwards, developed a revolutionary plastic-free food and beverage edible packaging technology, Wikipearl, that delivers a Triple Good: Good for you, Good for the environment and just plain Good.
Wikipearl skins are inspired by the way nature packages fruits and vegetables - imagine the skin of a grape or a coconut. These skins are delicious protective coatings that can be washed as you would fruit and vegetables, and need no other packaging.
In their first commercial launch Wikipearl technology has been licensed to Stonyfield yogurt. Wikipearls will also be offered with functional benefits such as beauty, digestive health, cardio health and so on.
A minimal identity was developed mainly as a sub-brand for application within a given licensee's branding, and incorporates a healthful ecological feeling green into a hand-made custom font. A hexagon appears as a motif - taken from the shape of human skin cells - evoking the protective barrier properties of the Wikipearl.
